Corporate headshots: International Women’s Day at Microsoft

Corporate headshots: International Women’s Day at Microsoft

Assignment:  staff headshots for International Women’s Day at Microsoft, Portland.

Setting:  Microsoft Hillsboro campus

Highlights:  Portland is an amazing place to celebrate International Women’s Day- IWD.   Take a look at this summary of IWD activities in Metro:

Prosper Portland, an equity-focused collaboration of larger Portland businesses and nonprofits, provided a cross section of March activities centered on International Women’s Day.   Here’s an outtake from Prosper Portland’s website:

Portland’s International Women’s Day will feature a number of events that celebrate women’s voices, achievements and courage. Among the events are an evening of networking and talks for software engineers, co-sponsored by Nike and Women Who Code at the Nike Campus; Our Bold Voices Presents: Nevertheless She Persisted, a fundraiser for the Family Preservation Project at the Mission Theater; and a collaborative event presented by WIS-PDX and co-hosted by Oregon BEST, OBI, and OCTRI to build a supportive network and provide resources for women entrepreneurs in the community.

Smaller organizations by and for women are equally deserving of praise and notice.  For example, friend and collaborator Kerri Ann Garfield Photography created a portfolio of portraits of start-up women’s businesses in West Linn and Lake Oswego, supported by the Business Recovery Center (https://wanderwillamette.com/).

And I had the privilege of creating portraits of Microsoft’s bright, energetic and incredibly photogenic women professionals on March 7,  in celebration of International Women’s Day.
