Happy Hour Headshots

Happy Hour Headshots

Assignment:  Headshots for thirty,  with a side of Willamette Valley chardonnay

Sponsors:  Country Financial, Forest Park Conservancy, Portland Microsoft and others.

Highlights:    Studio-quality headshots and happy hour gatherings seem made for each other.   Consider these March events:  for Country Financial and Portland Microsoft, on-campus happy hours provided an opportunity to recognize and encourage women building careers in finance and tech.  For Forest Park Conservancy, the hiring of a new director was cause for celebration at a Portland pub.

Each of these events was a unique mixture of portrait perks:  organizations and peers gathering around, showing their support;  a selection of Willamette Valley wines;  “golden hour†light filtering in through windows.   The combination provided an opportunity for me to photograph talented, bright people at their best.

OK, you got me.  Strike that part about golden hour light.  It was one of the wettest months on record and it actually poured  through most of these events.  But the weather didn’t seem to matter.  The smiles, the friendships, the energy– and the portraits that resulted –were all genuine.

For your next happy hour, consider the possibilities.
